AT&T and Alltel Merger

Ok, quick question...what is wrong with the HTC Aria? Did you say this to help that person not get a higher bill, or is there something wrong with that phone? My HTC Snap has been an awesome phone, and I am leaning toward that one to try the Android system.

No, there is nothing wrong with the HTC Aria or any of the phones I listed. I just said that because the poster did not have a smartphone plan and I didn't want them to mess up their plan.

I plan on getting my free one and then upgrading so that I have a new phone and a back up. But I was wondering if anyone currently has the blackberry tour. My husband has this phone and doesn't want the curve they are offering him for free. I am thinking i might call and see if he can get the torch for free since it is more comparable than a curve. Has anyone tired this or heard of anyone succesfully doing this?

If you want the torch, you will have to pay 300 bucks.

I chose the Samsung Eternity II with a new plan.

If he likes the Tour, the closest phone to it w/o getting a Torch would be the Bold 9700. It's basically a souped up Tour and has the touchpad instead of the rollerball. You'd be a lot more likely to sweet-talk an AT&T rep into getting you one of those for free or minimal cost than to get a Torch for anything less than the 300 bucks CD mentioned above.

I have a Tour on Verizon, and my wife has a Bold 9650, and while hers is pretty cool--the difference is negligible between the two for me. I'm going to hang on to my Tour as long as I can, at least until I'm forced into something else.

We switched to verizon, got the HTC Incredible now, haven't got it turned on yet and I haven't fooled around with it much...still trying to get everything in place with my old BB so I can get all my pics on my card, which is a ***** and like 350 numbers to get down just in case something went wrong with them transferring them - always worried about that somehow happening.

Instead of writing down your numbers, just plug your phone into the computer, and do a backup with the software that came with your blackberry. You can store your address book in there until you figure out if the transfer goes smoothly.

On the back page of the Coalfield AT&T has an ad saying alltel is part of AT&T in your area with a Calendar and Nov 21 circled, so I guess there almost done. I know on the way back from Kingsport over the weekend I had a E signal 99% of the way back around jasper had no signal, still nothing in downtown Wise or outside of Norton, was over toward Abingdon had no signal on a AT&T phone.
